Dear everyone:

It is again a while as usual since I wrote. Ofcourse a lot has happened since then we have all spoken and papuchi, Babi uncle, Bullibabu Valli, sujan also came from overseas. In addition to many others who also came over and we all spoke a few times.

I am back in Bangalore and getting to usual things to do.Kids are almost in their final month or so soon in wrapping up school activities for the year.

As you all are aware by now we are all very sorry Alamuru tata has passed away with Bullibabu and Vijaylakshmi along side sattibabu uncle missed it by a whisker of a chance he has left us all a big void in terms of aid and advise he would give all of us. His noble gestures will be missed terribly I was one of the many unlucky who could not see him in the final days ofcourse I was lucky enough to see him 2 months ago when we saw him in the laksha patri puja. I had booked and cancelled my tkt to alamuru and that was a great blunder I made!

The final rites were performed in accordance to the highest Vedic traditions that tata is always used to. Dad & mom now have the mantel to carry on now in our family being the eldest who led the way in perfoming all the religious rites with great sense of pride and belonging. All the babaiya's also performed admirably. It was a sombre occassion without tata or mamma present but they stood their ground firmly and did all the things accordingly. Sattibabu uncle and Vijaylakshmi pinni were the anchors firmly in charge and in control of the overall pulse of things to do and order.

Despite the heat and distance daily dad, all uncles bullibabu, saibabu, jayababu, babi, sattibabu all of them walked 3 kms each way to the Godavari Canal to perform the rites, they had all gone without chappals the first day it was schorching heat under the feet!

We had a 12 day mourning and during that time it was a very sad case in the beggining 4-5 days none of us knew what was going on we were still dazed and not wanting to be sure the reality that struck us. Saibabu uncle read the purnanam daily which was to be read at the time alone.

Well all done and over with all donations done in the highest accordance it is indeed our prayers Tata's soul will rest in peace.

To all and everyone I will miss tata very much and will always enjoyed my times
at alamuru for decades at a stretch in summers!

Hi seenu,
Thanks for sharing and it is touching. These are days to reminisce.
The strength our family always had is the unity and I hope it continues regardless of every thing.

God bless you

Dear annaiya,
It was very nice of you to have written and so well.I was not fortunate enough to see him.Now I know I would not be able to ....maybe I could have in the last three years...
I beleive that Tatagaru was proud of all his children and grandchildren.I am grateful to God that I had him for my grandfather.. someone I could and alws will look up to.If I could be atleast half the person he was,I would think myself lucky.
Sujju, I think, put together the family tree while he was in Alamuru....makes one glad that we are a part of such a huge family, something to be proud of.
Take care

Hi seenu,

Glad to hear from you. Here we are fine and slwoly getting used to the memphis weather which is very very unpredicatable all week long. Kids are fine and getting used to things areound here. Neha and sidharth have spring break from 14th to 18th march and I should see what i can do with them.

Glad to see some pictures which papuchi sent of alalmuru.
I have not gone to allauru in a while. I did not go there in my last visit . Tatagaru came to see me. That was great of him to travel at that age and do things on his own. In fact dad and mom said he used to keep enquring about sidharth as he saw him in hyd last time we went and because of his asthma he used to tell me how homeopathy medicines work and I would update him after my visit with the doc. He was playing with kids while I was there. Neha learnt a few shlokas from him while he was there. It was good I could see at that time. Now I am not sure how i am going to go to alalmuru as the memoires i had were good ones and hope tata's soulds rests in peace and we are all proud to be his grand children.

Hope anu is doing good. Good luck

Baby

Dear Seenu,

That was indeed a very moving tribute!!
He was a very very GREAT MAN!!!!!!We have lost a
wonderful person.
He is being and will be missed by all of us. We each
have such special memories of him. His words of advice
and wisdom still ring in my ears each time I think of
him. I strongly believe that our success and
well-being in life has been due to tatagaru and
mamma's blessings and prayers.
Ofcourse they were proud of each of their children and
grandchildren (and great grand children too ). I feel
awful that I could not take baby Naina to him and get
his blessings, and now she has missed out----.
I wish I had gone!!

Seenu, you have got to feel proud that his wish for
you to go back and settle in India got fulfilled, he
must have been happy. We now have to think of the
great times we had there during our vacations etc. I
remember tatagaru witing letters to dad to arrange
tkts for us to go to ala several months before summer
cos he was afraid tkts maynot be avail.
Up until recently I recall him telling the cook "put
sugar in her plate, she likes to eat her food that
way".
Eventhough he was so much older he gave immense
respect to each one of us and to every word we spoke
to him, no wonder he holds such a special place in our
hearts.
I feel very lucky to be born in his family, god bless
his soul to rest in peace.

Papuchi, thanks for the photos. It felt good to see
all the family members. Between seenu's description
and your photos, we have kinda got the whole picture
of what went on there.
Seenu and Sujan, heard you worked a lot on the family
tree, would love to get a copy emailed when you get a
chance.

Take care.
love and regards to all,
rajju

What more could I add that has not already been said in some way or the
other by Seenu, Sribala and Rajju. I am honoured to have been born in
our family.

Only regret I have is staying thousands of miles away, the next gen kids did
not get raised knowing their great grandfather well, learning from him.
That is my single most regret. If I could turn the clock, this is one thing I
would havedone differently. Some of my most memorable times were the summer
vacations in Alamuru. I just loved spending time with mamma and tatagaru. I
remember tatagaru teaching me slokas Ramaya, Apadam...making me repeat
them over and over again and the walk to the temple and sitting at the 'cheruvugattu'
there and his famous 'papuchi....yante sangatalu' in that smilingtone of voice...

Our family is strong and close knit. Dad, Mom and all our Uncles and Aunts
have given us the greatest upbringing for which I shall ever be thankful.
We are all treated as if we are everyone's children. This shows our closeness.
This was clearly evident during the 12 days in Alamuru. Now it is our responsibility to uphold these family values and traditions, the closeness with one another so that as our children grow up knowing one another and their big family of aunts and uncles.

For my part I will make every attempt to be in touch with each of my
cousins and I would ask each of my cousins to step up and do the same,
as I am sure tatagaru and mamma would love to see this from heaven
above.

We missed Bullibabaiya, Jayababaiya, on these emails from Seenu, Sri,
Rajju. I do not have their email addresses. Hope one of you have their addresses
and can forward these to them.

Love to all,
Papuchi.
